Formerly known as Yogashala Ponsonby, Four Winds Yoga was established in 1996 at the beautiful Ponsonby Community Centre. The yoga taught at Four Winds is based on the teachings by BKS Iyengar. Iyengar Yoga is a style primarily concerned with alignment of the body. Alignment of the body; creating space, based on support, bearing the load. It is a courageous practice that the regular practitioner benefits from enormously. All levels are welcome, if you are new to Four Winds Yoga please contact us directly before attending class. Casual beginner classes are available should you like to try yoga before committing to a full term.

The yoga requires a level of dedication, not so much as mastering a plethora of techniques but as a way to cultivate a practice based on the understanding within the traditions of a yoga practice.
